Skirty issues

I'm due to make another item from my new wardrobe list, but even though I have all the supplies to make one or two new items, I'm stalling. You see (warning: another poor me moment), I have lost a dress size since having Adele. I used to be a size 10 and have been for over a decade, or pretty much since high school. Now I am a size 8 and I just don't see that it will last. How can I be the same size for most of my life then go down one?? Anywho, I really want to make a skirt, but am hesitant making a size that fits now just incase it won't fit in a year.

I have some special Echino fabric set aside. So do I make a wrap skirt, which will provide a little more flexibility in my weight or just risk making a regular fitted a-line skirt and hope this is the new normal??

The Anna Maria Horner fabric you see to the left is for another skirt - it's kinda wild, but I think should look super cool!

On another note, I am just in love with this Pinwheel Skirt by Elle Apparel which can be found on U-Create and might just set aside all current projects to begin this one...

  1. love the pinwheel skirt and your fabrics! I would probably make the skirt to fit now, you may not go back to the size you once were or always have been. Our bodies seem to have a mind of their own after babies!! For me, its been weight gain!!

  2. Gorgeous pinwheel skirt and your fabrics would look awesome in this style.

I wish I had the same problem as you after babies... I'm heading in the opposite direction and swiftly. Maybe we could swap a couple of kilos?

  3. hmm had to stop writing to shed a tear! Make it to fit you now! If you put weight on (not sure how since you do not stop) then you can make it into something for Adele. And thank your lucky stars! I love both those fabrics!!!
