Queen Anne's Lace

I've seen this crochet pattern quite a bit in blogland recently like here, here and here. With a goal of minimising scraps in my stash, I knew this would be the perfect project for me. I used this pattern and it only took a few hours to make.
I used some Spotlight wool which was left over from James' baby blanket. It's a nice shade of yellow and will go with quite a few things in my wardrobe. I wore it today to drop off the kids to daycare, but it's not that cold in Sydney today and I am planning on sewing today (woo hoo!) so probably won't wear it all day.

My Me Made June outfits are:

Today, Thursday 16 June
Me Made scarf - details above

Wednesday, 15 June - No photo, but I wore the same boring work pants as pictured in this post. I don't think I need to keep taking photos of my crappy work uniform. It's funny I was planning a whole post to ramble on about my crappy job. When I worked in the corporate world and was super stressed, I used to dream about having a job in retail, where all I would do is fold towels. Yep, years of university and hard work, but all I wanted to do is fold towels (my way). Now I have a job equivalent to folding towels, you know taking orders and handing out food, but it's kinda sucky.  Clearly the grass is always greener on the other side! It's nice not to be stressed, but I do really want to use my brain. Anyway, I'll suck it up for now. We need the extra money each week and there are people far worse off than us, so I'll shut up and not rant for a whole post.

Tuesday, 14 June - Running errands
Here we have another attempt at sewing a basic t-shirt and again, it is no good. This time I used Burda magazine 12/2009 No. 121, but omitted the placket. As you can see it's still way too big. I made the smallest size (36), but it's especially big under the arms, they are quite generous and bunchy.

I think I'll try one of the Built by Wendy Sew U Home Stretch patterns next.

  1. I highly recommend the Jalie patterns for t-shirts etc. They seem to work out perfectly every time.
