Christmas protocol: a question.

So I have been thinking about asking Santa to bring Adele a small toy crib as she is quite obsessed with playing with dolls, which still seems so strange to me as we are more used to cars and super hero's in this house. At the moment, her dolls are put to bed in beer boxes, toy boxes, arm chairs or any other box or cushioned location.

She is not particularly articulate yet, except with her demands for yollies (lollies) and biscuits, so I felt it was my responsibility to put forward this request to Santa.

Last night, when driving to work, I stumbled upon this little treasure on the side of the road.
It appears barely used. No scratches, no chips, just a little dust.

So I'm keen to hear from you, does Santa find toys on the side of the road, or is that just a bit scabby?

Interestingly, the toy crib also contained a packet of unopened spoke decorations, which will go perfectly on the bikes that I think Santa will bring the boys.

Fate?? I think so!

  1. Santa obviously left it on the side of the road for you to take home so he doesn't have to throw it in the bloody sleigh.

Also 'cos he knows you'd want to choose your own fabric for the lining and stuff. Something that would suit little Adele perfectly.

  2. Go for it, it was meant to be. You will be able to make it uniquely hers.

  4. Santa thinks ahead. He knew you would want to fill it with all the right things. If it is like new and you are happy, go for it.

  5. How exciting! Good things happen to good people!

Santa put it there so you can make her the bedding and be able to buy materials that you'll think she like if you don't have them in your stash! He's very frugal like that!

ps Santa is not scabby.... he's a refashioner!

  9. That is great, coincidentally Scarlett would like one of those (shame there was not two, now that would have been just completely bonkers!!). Anyway, it's not scabby if Santa brings other things like beautiful bedding and outfits for baby doll.

PS I remember having a bassinet for my baby dolls but I was a bit older. My Mum threw away everything!

  10. Just a thought, its not big enough for your daughter to climb into, is it? If it WAS she might be hurt??

  11. Santa is way too busy making plastic toys that need batteries and will break in 5 mins. He made sure that this was dropped off before hand so you could add beautiful bedding to it, to make it personal for Adele. Not scabby at all.

  12. Of course it's OK! It's gorgeous - looks like a perfect gift from Santa for your little girl - what a lucky find! My daughter has an old dolls' bed that's a hand-me-down and it's one of her absolute favourite toys - the dolls and teddies spend such a lot of their playtime being put to bed with a selection of pillows and blankets, some of which are really just rectangular fabric scraps :-)
