Distractions

Do you ever find that just as you are about to embark on a project that's been on your list for a while, that you can't help but avoid it?? I have two dresses fully cut and ready to sew, but when I found a few moments at the machine, I couldn't help but make three skirts for Adele.
This adorable bubble skirt was made with the remnant of fabric from this dress. I really hate remnants of dress fabric and always try to purchase scant amounts to avoid left overs. I still have a remnant of Liberty Lantana from this dress, but I'm not sure little toddlers should wear black dresses...
Look at this pose! I've found a new place to photograph this little monkey, she needs to be trapped in a corner.
This skirt has been planned in my head for about a year now. I purchased the fabric at a quilt show last year with the intention of making a skirt. Now I check this one off my list.
Lastly, I think every little girl needs a tutu right? Being a mum of two boys first, this is my first foray into sewing with tulle, and this is extra special pink flocked tulle! This tutu is based on the style in the Oliver & S little things to sew, whereby it ties at the back with a ribbon, so hopefully it will last a while.

Clearly, it's too long and I need to fix that. Adele styled this photo all by herself. She loves sorting through the baskets of clean clothes waiting to be folded.

Now that these projects are off the list, I can get back to those two dresses.

  1. Oh too cute. Now i'm a children-should-not-wear-black kind of mother but teamed with all that cuteness, apart from the gorgeous style of the skirt (it looks bubbly) with a massive dollup of colour, it's competely suitable & she clearly LOVES it. Love Posie

  2. Oh my goodness she is the cuteness!

I am forever doing this; "to do" list as long as my arm but I will go to any length to get out of what I should be doing & end up distracted by something completely different & usually unnecessary. ;)
