We Christened our little girl yesterday and followed the ceremony with a lunch at our house for our family and friends.
No matter how many events you've hosted or parties you've organised, each one is hard work. I didn't sit down all day. We also didn't remember a camera for the ceremony!!! Thankfully, Adele's godparents remembered their camera, so I should get some photos this coming weekend.
I was asked if I was making Adele's dress for the day, but we were lucky enough to receive a stunning, hand smocked Christening gown from Aunty Magaret when Adele was born, so there was no need for me to stress over her dress.
Isn't it sweet? The stitching and workmanship is quite amazing.
My sister made Adele a cake and it too was amazing. She also made two towers of cupcakes, each decorated with little handmade flowers.
Seriously, I could not have made anything nearly as good as these.
Now the ol' Me Made June tracking has been a little crappy these past few days. I've missed photos and lost time. So this is my catch up, but it's not that blogworthy.
Today, 20 June - Running around with the kids.
It's unusually warm in Sydney today, so I managed a short sleeved tee and just accessorized with my Queen Anne's Lace scarf. Details blogged here.
Sunday 19 June - Adele's baptism
I didn't managed to make a new dress for the Baptism, so wore my Burda Heidi dress. I really love this dress, but as I mentioned in my original post about it, there isn't enough ease around the hips. I think I'll be heading to Tessuti this week to buy some more of this fabric to fix this problem. I just love it too much for it to go to waste.
As I said earlier, we forgot our camera for the ceremony and I was too busy to take photos during the lunch. Thankfully my sister took over and I do have a few shots of my own.
Saturday, 18 June - no photo!
Look, I wore my corduroy Crescent skirt today, but as I spent so much of the day running around getting ready for Sunday, I didn't manage to get a photo.
Friday, 17 June - no photo!
Again, I wore my corduroy Crescent skirt - yep two days in a row, but no photographic proof.
So this appears to be a bit of a fail in my opinion. Only half of the last 4 days recorded. I will try harder though. I may even iron the clothes in the ironing basket, so I have a few more options to wear.
Oh congratulations, i have missed so many posts!! She looked beautiful, what a super gorgeous dress, my middle name is Margaret after my auntie, who is also my GodMother too, ahhhh, everyone needs a fabulous auntie Margaret in their lives, ditto for an uncle Tony. I have two uncle Tonys - one lives in your suburb. Love Posie
