This skirt was made with Sewaholic's new Crescent skirt pattern. The pattern was easy to follow and quick to make. I made mine with corduroy, but probably will use something lighter weight next time, as my poor overlocker sounded quite sad as I rushed through its construction.
I'm generally quite happy with the skirt and the pattern. I think the sizing may run a little large, but I also should have properly tapered the waist band to fit my not-so-curvy frame.
I think I'll make it again. The shaping of the waist band is quite unique and would look great with some bias piping to show it off or perhaps some stripey fabric to show off the curves.
This is my third day of MMJ and I'm so happy with this great outfit for playing around with the kids. I should note that I finished this skirt just before I went on holidays, so these photos are from then, but I love this outfit so much that I'm wearing the exact same today. The kids are here today, so no point taking another photo of me wearing the exact same thing. I hope that's OK to all, I'm not trying to dodge the system, just being econimical with my time!
Yesterdays outfit was a little less great. Now that I'm on a uni break, I worked a spilt shift at the restaurant, so I wore a horrible, super large, poly blend work issued shirt (yuk!) and my black work pants, which I made with a Built by Wendy Simplicity pattern 3850.
I'm so ashamed of this outfit, I can't even show my face!
Love your skirt and nice to see someone else from Sydney.
ReplyDeleteI love your skirt! The corduroy is perfect for the shape.
ReplyDeleteI also love MbW Simplicity 3850. I have made three different pairs and love them all. Yours look cute!
