Spotty! New Look 6145

I have another simple make to add to my work wardrobe.

I've used New Look 6145 before, which you can see here as I dress, and here as a boxy top. I adore both of these items and wear them often in Winter. I really like shaping the darts create and knew this style would work well with my denim pencil skirt.
This fabric was purchased on Etsy from Land of Oh. You can see it here. It is quite similar to a terry knit and was nice to sew. My only problem was the neck band stretched during sewing, so I folded it back into the inside and stitched it down. It provides a cleaner finish, in my opinion, so I'm not terribly bummed about this hiccup. As you can see I didn't worry too much about print placement on the sleeves. I didn't have too much fabric to work with, as I only ordered a meter. I was more worried about the dot placement on the front and am happy with where they now are.
I wore this outfit today and felt good. I really like the loose style of this top, but it feels dressier than a tee.

Cost:
Pattern: New Look 6145, used before = Free
Fabric: 1m knit fabric from Land of Oh, inc part shipping = $18.90
Thread from stash
Total: $18.90

  5. I love it! I can't tell from the pics - is a a thick knit? Or more t-shirt weight? I need something to make into a perri pullover...

  6. It's closer to a tee shirt knit than a ponte. It is stretchy and good-ish recovery. It might be a bit clingy for a dress

  7. Lovely fabric and style choices. Turning the neckline back and simply stitching is a very clean look. And reduces the bulk that binding and facings create:)

  9. Great pattern placement at the front - that was real danger territory! I love the fun of the polka dots with a denim skirt, perfect dressy casual outfit
