Anywho - I actually missed blogging a bit. You see even though I have a small group of friends and my mum that 'get' my creative obsession, I really can't bat on to them as much as I would like about it. It's also difficult to show them what I'm making, what I'm planning and what I've stuffed up.
I've also realised that the whole blog thing is a very, very easy way to communicate with some of my family and friends who live on the other side of the world (Hi sis, bro, CNDI, mum and the rest!!). While they don't necessarily 'get' the creative thing, I know that they do like to hear about the family and see the pics.
You see (I'm talking to myself here) blogging is not just 'noise' on the internet if it serves a purpose - be that a journal of creativity or a way for family and friends to see how you're doing. And even if it is 'noise' who cares???? Stop thinking too much! Stop stressing about insignificant crap!!! Don't try to solve all of your problems over morning coffee!!!
So to wrap up - this blog will continue, but I can't say how much it will be updated. Might be a lot (while procrastinating over uni work) might be a little (as I wipe vomit off the rug, wipe bums, change nappies and generally juggle life with three little ones), but it will still be here.
Now enough about that. I've been sewing ALOT lately. So much that today I have a really, really sore back. I must try to concentrate more on posture while at the machine!!
Here's a glimpse of some of my most recent creations.
Blouse - made with Jennifer Pagaletti fabric and trimmed in fine pink lace. Inspiration from here, pattern from Japanese pattern book New York Kids Style. I love this blouse so much I'm making Adele another in some new Joel Dewberry fabric with a cream ric rac trim. I've made it a little large so she can wear them in summer, but right now she can wear it over a long sleeve tee.
Jodhpers made with super light stretch denim. Every baby needs some jodhpurs right??? Pattern from this Ottobre magazine. These are so cool I've made a few pairs for gifts and have a little left over black stretch denim for another pair for Adele.
The jodhpurs again and the vest that I reported about here. Yes - Adele is standing now, ALL THE TIME!!! and yelling when she can't get up on something or can't get down...
The Echino shift - I love, love, love this fabric! It's a cotton/linen blend and you can't see in the pics but I've trimmed the arm holes with green lace. Again this dress is a bit big for her because it's has been made for summer, for when she is walking. I must say I am looking forward to Adele walking, only so that her wardrobe can include more dresses and I do know how hard it is when a babe begins walking, but I'm still excited about it!!
And some updated pics of the boys.....
Will post later with photos of the other stuff that I've made for the kids and for myself.
:)
WOW - you've made some gorgeous gorgeous things there. Lovely dovely indeedy.
ReplyDeleteBlogging should be fun and not something that adds to your sense of overwhelment (is that a word?) Enjoy.
YAYAYAYAYAYAY, I didn't dare say any different when you said you couldn't blog anymore due to time constraints, but I'm glad you think you might be able to a little more, even if it's infrequent.
ReplyDeleteBlogging is a great communication tool and also like a diary so you can remember what it was like when...
I cannot wait to get Corin into his jodhpurs, they're so cute.
