Blogger Knock-Off! Simplicity 2603

On my recent trip to Melbourne, I was fortunate enough to see Leith's new Style Arc Harper cardigan in person before it was blogged. Seriously, I wanted to rip that thing from her back as she sat in front of me! Leith has such a good eye for patterns and colours that suit her and need to channel some of that style for moi!
Here's my knock off of Leith's Harper jacket. It is different, but I am happy with my version. Obviously Leith used the Style Arc Harper pattern for her's, but as I was feeling hesitant to part with any more money after my spendy trip to Melbourne, I chose instead to modify my existing copy of Simplicty 2603 (now OOP) .
I have made Simplicity 2603 before here. Unfortunately the fabric I used was horrible. It was a terribly scratchy, thick wool/poly knit from Spotty and felt uncomfortable against my skin. To modify the pattern, I simply cut the front panels of this original cardigan until it looked somewhat like Leith's Harper.

The fabric I used for this cardigan is a super soft merino from The Fabric Store. I purchased it in Melbourne while shopping with Rachel and Leith. I love this deep purple/plum colour, though I wish I'd have been a little more adventurous.

Oh well, I guess I can always make another!

I hope you have a great weekend!

Cost:
Pattern: Simplicity 2603, used before = Free
Fabric: 1.5m merino from The Fabric Store, on sale = $30
