Can you tell?
She really didn't want to wear it for these photos.
It's a bit big and it also hasn't been terribly cold in Sydney yet, which doesn't help.
The fabric is a double sided, quilted knit from The Fabric Store. Adele found the remnant rolled up at the Sydney store earlier this year and proceeded to walk around the shop with it on her arm, pretending to be a robot. For $11 it allowed me to shop with my mum, while she entertained herself.
Thankfully a few tickles managed to lighten the mood.
Hopefully she'll wear it at some point this winter.
Pattern from here.
You really are a good Mum.
ReplyDeleteI think it's great! Perfect for cool weather. I think Thornberry made a top for her daughter in this style a while back. I was so tempted to get the pattern then but will try to be sensible and wait for winter, even though I just now that my daughters aren't gong to like it either (no ruffles or swish). I have a very effective threat that works well for my 4yr old for photos. She likes clothes more than anyone ive ever known."No more dresses from mummy if you don't let me take a photo, if you don't like it you can give it to miss 2." I'm wondering how long this will work for!
ReplyDeleteOh no! It's so cute!! I can't believe she doesn't like it! Hopefully she'll change her mind because she's cute as a button in it!
ReplyDeleteMy bribes aren't as effective as they used to be and we don't have anyone else to threaten to pass garments on to. Hopefully she'll wear it at some point this winter. If you can call it that. You have missed 25 degrees every day this week.
ReplyDeleteCute! I bought some of this fabric too but when I got home there were quite a few imperfections in it and a big hole :( Teaches me to watch when fabric is being cut and not wander off looking at other shiny bits of fabric. But I might pull it out again and see if I can salvage it.
ReplyDeleteHaha...that's how I feel when I try on most of things I sew for myself! Perhaps I need to administer tickles to get my sewjo back...
ReplyDeletePity it wouldn't fit me, because I love it! Kids are funny. M is getting increasingly picky about clothes - some days she is really opinionated, others she just wears whatever I put on her.
ReplyDeleteIt's very cute, but that face does speak a thousand words! But you know kids, they change their minds so quickly and frequently that I'm sure she'll love it and then hate it a few more times before winter is out!
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous! I wish I could wear pink.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to use that exact fabric for a Perri last weekend but didn't have enough. Hopefully your daughter will change her mind ...
