I never thought I'd do this...

But I have spent a little time recently sewing dolls clothes...
I made them for Adele's birthday, to go with the Cabbage Patch doll that she got.
It was good to use a few scraps of quilting cotton.
And they fit pretty well.
And can you believe that the patterns were nearly free at only 20c a piece?

Love a cheap and well loved gift.

  1. I always pick up cabbage Patch Kid patterns at the oppy, they can be expensive on Ebay etc, and think they'll be collectors items one day! My girl was never into dressing and undressing her dolls much, but you've given me an idea for her Build A Bear's ($20 an outfit!)

  2. I love these patterns. It's always nice to find a way to use up oddments of fabric. Takes me back to when I had a cabbage patch kid. Tiffany Scarlet. All sounds very cute but I was 18 at the time! :)

  3. Those turned out great. I am with you, I totally don't want to sew doll clothes, but there will come a day...I've got two little girls who will ask at one point!

  6. I always wanted a cabbage patch doll. My mother said they were ugly so I had to endure a childhood with out one *sob**sob* #firstworldproblem

Love the dolls clothes. So good for Adele to have outfits to practice dressing dolly. Good for the motors skills hey.

  7. Aren't they fiddly to sew? Much easier to make real people clothes, even little people clothes! I had intended to make quite a wardrobe of Cabbage Patch doll clothes, but luckily my daughter isn't too interested in her doll at the moment so multiple outfits aren't yet required. Phew!
