Weekend Sewing and a Winner!

So it's Monday and I promised to draw the winner of my 'Sharing the love' giveaway last Friday.... Whoops! Please excuse the tardy, to say I'm exhausted and busy is an understatement!!!!!

So without further ado, the winner is... (drum roll please).....

Mae! Congratulations!

I'll send you an email to get your address!

Now weekend sewing has been a little thin on the ground this past weekend. The husband has been home, which doesn't happen often, but he was mostly broken from fence building and a massive self inflicted headache (read: hang over). Yep, massive sympathy from me.... Anyway, I did manage to finish off the cushion covers for this chair from Nana. Gosh, I originally blogged about this way back in November 2010. I made some throw together cushion covers in January 2011. Then purchased fabric in December 2011. My husband has been nagging me to get it out of his garage - I guess I should give him more credit for being patient.
But while the cushion covers are done, I still haven't finished the chair. Seriously, rubbing back 60 years of varnish over vanish on a fiddly, curvy piece of furniture takes F-O-R-E-V-E-R! I only have one more fine paper rub back to complete before I coat with some matt varnish.
In the meantime, here are the boys lounging on the cushions, less the lounge chair. They are sporting their fresh baked cinnamon rolls, that I decided to make because I had nothing to do....

Congratulations again to Mae and Happy Monday All! May your week be filled with fun, little-to-no stress and if you are lucky, a little sewing!

  1. I absolutely love that fabric!!! The chair will look amazing when you've finished!! Well done! We have an old lounge suite from my in-laws from the 70's that needs new everything... how much are you doing yourself? I know it would save us a lot of money if I did it myself but I don't know where to start!

  2. Looks good! Self inflicted headache, indeed! Tut, tut. Hey, I just clicked on your link for cinnamon rolls, and O. M. G. I think I may need to go make a batch of those. RIGHT NOW.

Thanks for leaving a comment. I love reading them, but don't always have the time to respond. Please email me if you have a pressing question :)
