It has been a little quiet around here this week, but this doesn't mean that there's been no action in the sewing department. In fact, even though I've squeezed in some real work, I've also finished a number of garments to show. This is the first. A super sweet, tie neck blouse based on the Belle Bow Blouse pattern from In House patterns.
I haven't heard much about this pattern company. I stumbled across this pattern via Pinterest (l-o-v-e pinterest!). The blouse came together quickly and easily. The pattern was professionally drafted and easy to follow. They only have a few patterns available, but perhaps more will come.I really adore this blouse. I'm going through a bit of a pussy bow blouse phase at the moment and might have a second different one to show you tomorrow.
This is made with a silky cotton from Cottonholic. It drapes wonderfully and sews like a dream. The blouse was quick to pull together and is finished nicely. As I have no waist or bust :( I chose not to sew the fitted darts along the bottom of the blouse. I simply cut the sides straight and it works. Next time I will probably shape the back a little more with darts.
Super sweet, super easy and it has already passed the work test and received compliments. Yay!
Hope you had a great weekend. I'm looking forward to at least one free, sewing day this week.

ReplyDeleteLovely blouse! Can you tell me what silky cotton is?
ReplyDeleteIt's like a lightweight sateen. I'm not sure why it's called silky cotton by that etsy seller. :)
