I enjoyed a half day without the kids this week. They are on the mend at last! I used this time wisely, choosing to build my t-shirt wardrobe with some lovely new fabric.
Merino knit from The Fabric Store
Merino knit from The Fabric Store
Cotton double knit from Harts Fabric. I tried to modify this one to create more of a boat neck tee by raising the neckline 1.5 inches and widening the neck by 1 inch each side. It isn't perfect, but still wearable.
I think for my next Renfrew I might size down to a 4, there is a little extra ease in these tees due to how stretchy the merino is.
Happy sewing!
Love the look of the shirts, need a pattern like that I think :) Specialle love the merino knits.
ReplyDeleteThey're so stylish, you look terrific. I like the neckline on the striped T, so flattering! x
ReplyDeleteYou're a speedy sewer - these are all great, and such lively colours!
ReplyDeleteI think I must have gone on a merino binge at the Fabric Shop around the same time as you... but so far only 1 completed top and 1 half made.
I have to ask you and others this: when you cut more than one from the same pattern, do you put the fabrics together? I really am so tempted to, but just feel weird doing it, like the goddesses of sewing will rust my scissors or something!
ReplyDeleteColleen, I don't cut more than one garment at once. I fear ruining the fabric! I can cut fabric on the dining room table with the kids running about, so cutting time isn't too hard in this house, there are just a lot of interruptions.
Deletei really need to get this pattern - these look great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic blast of colour for your wardrobe!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got some time to yourself. The little ones can be fun to be with but it can also be physically exhausting. Yellow looks really good on you.
