Crochet is cool

I used to think that crochet was the lesser cousin of knitting. But on my recent holiday, I stumbled upon a number of super cool crochet books in little shop called Sew and Tell in Berry, that have changed my mind. In particular, this book by Lucinda Guy.

I've never seen such cool crochet designs. I think I'll try to make the boys vests for winter and when Adele is a little older I'm definately going to try to make her a dress or the adorable coat on the front cover of the book, though it doesn't get terribly cold here in Aus, so it might be a bit of a waste.
I must admit I appear to be a little obsessed with crochet at the moment... I wonder how long it will last...

I'll be listing more items in my shop over the next few days, just getting it all together.

  1. My mom has been crocheting since before I was born, and made hundreds of things, including a couple of wedding dresses. I learned from her, and made my own prom dress and shawl and a ton of other things before I learned to knit on my own. My daughter is the latest in this long chain of crocheters. I'm so glad you've discovered it, too!

We had an exhibit of crochet at our little art center a couple of years ago. You can see it at www.oldjailarts.com. Click "Crochet Past and Present" in the sidebar.
